Today sustainable business is no longer a choice but a condition for competitiveness. Companies are increasingly aware of opportunities and risks, but often lack the time and resources to systematically look for solutions to make their operations more sustainable.
This is why at CER we have prepared a set of recommendations that offer companies concrete ideas and guidance to improve their performance in four key areas:
- sustainable commercial buildings,
- sustainable mobility,
- circular economy,
- sustainable communication.
The recommendations are intended for different roles in the company, from top management to expert departments, and support better decision making in all phases of business.

What do the recommendations include?
- 50 examples of good practices from Slovenia and abroad,
- 32 expert opinions on selected topics,
- basic tools with practical guidelines,
- an overview of relevant legislation,
- 4 navigators for self-assessment of progress.
We collaborated with numerous experts from the fields of economics, science, and decision-making, who used their knowledge and experience to help shape the guidelines for future business operations.
The recommendations offer starting points for strengthening the competencies of all employees, as sustainability is not just a task for management, but a process that requires the cooperation of the entire organization. Every employee, regardless of their role, must understand the basic principles of sustainability and acquire the knowledge and skills that promote innovation, cooperation, and responsible behavior.
Only in this way can a company link its strategic goals to everyday decisions and place sustainability at the very core of its business.
With four key recommendations, we want to help companies place sustainability at the core of their business and link it to everyday decisions.
We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all CER members and everyone involved in the development of the recommendations.
